1. How long does an inspection take?
A typical inspection will take between 2 and 3 hours inside the home.
2. Can you attend the inspection?
Yes you can attend the inspection. Attending the inspection will give you a better understanding of the home.
3. When do I get the report? Is it a written report?
You will receive a written report the same day that the inspection is completed.
4. How long have you been doing inspections?
I have been doing inspections since 1997. I have completed over 2000 inspections.
5. What are your qualifications?
I have 30 years of building experience. I have designed and built homes as well as been the site superintendent of larger construction projects. I successfully passed the building inspectors course at BCIT in 1997. I am a member of HIABC and have the designation of AHI. As a member of HIABC we are required to attend the continuing education courses that they offer.
6. What do you inspect?
We inspect the following systems including the Roofing, Exterior, Structure, Ventilation, Insulation, Electrical, Heating, Cooling, Plumbing and Interior.
7. What does a typical inspection cost?
Inspection fees range from $ 400.00 to $ 700.00 for most properties. There is an additional cost for homes over 3400 sq. feet.
8. Can you offer a guarantee?
No inspector can guarantee that nothing will go wrong with your home after the inspection is complete but the more experience an inspector has the more they can reduce this risk. I do guarantee that you will be satisfied with my work or the cost of the inspection will be returned to you.
9. How can I pay for the inspection?
Payment can be made by VISA or MC, cash, cheque or bank transfer.
10. Do you do repairs or recommend contractors who do?
My company does not do any repairs. If your Real Estate agent cannot offer you names of contractors I may be able to make recommendations. We do not accept any referral fees for recommendations that we might make.
11. Can I ask questions after the inspection?
